I did a little Q&A with my friend, the talented long-haired blond also known as Victor Jones. Besides shooting up the streets of every fashion capital you can think of, Victor also spends his time shooting campaigns. Lately he has become a campaign face himself. For Eastpak as a core series ambassador. Have a read below.
Challenges you encounter as an entrepreneur // Standing on my own two legs and not always having an answer to how things are supposed to be done. You are forced to try every option you have, learn from the experiences and supply your gained knowledge with the advice and help you are given along the way. Every single thing is at your own risk and even though that means sincere feelings of adversity and distress, it is also equal to a great personal and professional gain whenever you succeed.
The best things about working on your own // Is the ability to set my own boundaries. I call what I want to do – and how bad I want to do it. In my case that actually means that I can work 24/7 all year round – obviously – because I am my own boss. Also, the feeling of riding on a wave knowing you can thank yourself for it. I truly appreciate the fact that I can wake up every single day and do exactly what excites me.
Your biggest moment as a streetstyle photographer // There are so many. Most importantly it is the daily opportunity I have to travel the globe and meet a load of people! Walking the Paris streets with a camera in hand and suddenly seeing living legends that I admire by such as Anna Wintour or Rick Owens. And certainly also being able to shoot pictures of Kanye West or being held up by Carine Roitfeld because she simply wants to compliment your outfit.
Why Eastpak // With Eastpak I suddenly had the coolest opportunity to work with a world-known brand that I’ve known my entire life and hereby show that they are more than the classic backpack we all know from our highschool days. I’m also very appreciative of their acknowledgement towards me as an artist and how this project can make me a part of a project than spans across several countries.
